Privacy and cookies
This page explains what mark.ai collects, why, and how to change your choice.
Who we are
mark.ai is based in Ireland. You can contact us about anything on this page at infomark90@gmail.com.
The law that applies
We are based in Ireland, so we follow the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Irish Data Protection Acts 1988 to 2018, and the ePrivacy Regulations 2011, which cover cookies. Our regulator is the Data Protection Commission.
Analytics cookies
With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site, for example which guides are read, which prompts are copied and what people search for. This helps us decide which guides to write and improve. Our legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Google Analytics is not loaded and sets no cookies until you choose Accept on the cookie banner. If you choose Reject, nothing is loaded. If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies named _ga and _ga_*, which last up to 2 years in your browser. Google keeps the analytics data for 14 months, after which it is deleted.
Google Ireland Limited provides Google Analytics to us. Some data may be processed by Google outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States, under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
You can change your choice at any time using .
Hosting
The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and basic request details to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks. We do not use this to identify you.
Things stored only in your browser
The site remembers a few preferences in your own browser. They are never sent to us: your light or dark theme, whether you prefer Claude or ChatGPT steps, which Start here guides you have read, and your cookie choice. These are strictly necessary for the features you use, so they do not need consent.
Explainer videos
Our explainer videos play on this site itself. No video platform is loaded and nothing is tracked when you watch them, except a play count in Google Analytics if you have accepted analytics cookies.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to withdraw your consent at any time. Email us at the address above to make a request. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
